Default Fitting - Divorce Court on TV

Why isn't my DVR set to record this?

It's bad enough having the courts and family involved, but to air it out on national TV? Hope they got paid enough!

Ahhh, quite the contrary on some. I said that once, and then I appeared on a court show. Got the episode recorded to prove it ;-). Our case was not divorce related.... It was repayment of a loan. Haha... Had to take a shower after that appearance.

well for starters the judge on Divorce Court isnt a judge, it's a mediator

the agreements are not legally binding in most cases as well

They are in that both parties sign an agreement up front basically saying whatever the ruling is, its binding. People do it for the money.

If you appear on Judge Judy and the ruling says the plaintiff is to be paid X amount, the show pays the plaintiff, not the defendant. That's reason enough for me if I were about to lose a decent amount of money. A free trip and no debt if they rule against me? Winning.

People are actually told to argue with Judge Judy. The woman I know who went on the show was told Judge Judy would respect her more if she stood up for herself. Luckily she saw through the BS.

yep. In our case it was a 3000 debt... Plus we got a free trip to Hollywood and paid for our missed days from work. Plus if you get paid time off.... Although, I would never consider a show like divorce court... Way too personal to share on national TV.
