Thanks, Ele!

Judging from the emergence of some molars, I'd have to say that Mathias is knocking on no more than 8 to 12 weeks old!

But then again, I could be totally wrong!

Today was Ol' Mathias' first puppy check: Results:

Weight: 21 lbs.
Certifiable Age: 11 Weeks
Breed: Mixed/ Golden Lab, Great Pyrenees, Collie

Got his puppy vaccinations(distemper/parvovirus) but couldn't do rabies shot until after 12 weeks old! So that occurs next month on May 24th!

The attendants were simply taken aback with his attitude, friendliness, and loving nature!

Make sure whatever you're feeding him is in the good size of the pet food list.

Looks like I called it with the Great Pyrenees. The golden is obvious too. Yep you have a big boy there!!!

I am horrified that someone threw him out at such a young age. And I'm so glad that he found you.

They scanned him but found no chip. They also checked a area missing dogs computer sheet, but did not find him there either!

I have the option of having a microchip injected into him, but he needs to be 12 weeks old for that! I'm leaning heavily toward doing that as it costs only $20!

Money well spent, IMHO!

I agree that a chip is a good idea. All my dogs have them. They also have tags with our phone numbers on them.

Since they are all escape artists, these things have helped them find their way back to us a few times.

Bless his pointed little head, Mathias has not even hinted at munching furniture nor rugs!

Hasn't even offered to pee or poop in the cabin! Always seems to let you know when it's "time" to go outside for that kind of business!

He's just a real sweet little "hair merchant!"

... and growing!

He's already been through his inaugural 35 lb. sack of Purina Puppy Chow! And two leather chewhide bones!

Went back out to the fenceline yesterday evening where we originally found Mathias(or he found us!)

Adjacent to our property and across the road from our "meeting site" is an old deer blind, where I found evidence of puppy poo and tufts of puppy hair matching his color and consistency!

I fear, and at the very same time, welcome the fact that he may have taken refuge up in that abode shortly after having been abandoned! I simply teared up when I saw it!

In that respect, I cannot help but feel that perhaps God may have been responsible for having offered that precious creature temporary shelter there until such time that we came to run into each other on that fateful Tuesday afternoon!

Ergo, God does move in strange and mysterious ways!

Cool Re: New Addition to Ranch Today

Just wanted to post up a couple of pics of the new "hired help" out here at the ranch taken just a little earlier this morning!
