What if every woman was beautiful? (social experiment)

Thought this was an interesting video, where a guy interviews random women on how they see the idea of beauty and how they view themselves.

What do you think?

I think the standards of beauty would just change to something else. Something rare, look at how the standard of beauty has change throughout history.

I think comparatively women already are. Seriously--men on the whole are so ugly I'm not sure how the species propagates itself.

That was interesting. They were uncomfortable admitting that they thought they were beautiful themselves, but didn’t hesitate to give advice to others that didn’t see themselves as beautiful.

On another note-That guy is definitely getting laid a lot.

I think every woman IS beautiful. They express it in different ways....

Re: What if every woman was beautiful? (social experiment)

this is so sad, that all those pretty and beautiful girls did not think they were beautiful. I asked my 19 year old daughter this and she said, "hell yes". Some people have inflated egos.

As Americans our standard of beauty has changed so much. Young girls now think they need to be pencil thin, blonde and white to be pretty.

I think I am beautiful. My H kissed me all over my face a few days ago and told me how darn beautiful I was. I am size 12, 5/7, brown hair and of mixed race. I am beautiful..... There is no one out there like me.

And yes, every woman is beautiful.

i agree. i was listening a couple of years ago to our local radio show 'mark and brian' and one of the guys was
describing when they were trying to get pregnant and he described this image of his beautiful wife 'allowing' this hairy
beast (him) to go down on her. it was hilarious. yes, sometimes i don't get at all why women find men attractive.
i guess it's a good thing they do?

more to the point, one day, i was sitting around with my corporate co-workers at lunchtime and we got into a discussion about which
'girls' were beautiful. the older guy who has three daughters said "all girls are beautiful, just some are more beautiful
than others". I'd never heard that before. i was taken aback. i loved it.

maybe wishful thinking with some truth to it, or maybe just plain true?

Different strokes for different folks i guess. Personality can wreck it in a heartbeat though. Watching an objectively "hot" woman mistreat a waiter or yell at a cashier for instance would make the turtle go hide in his cave for the rest of the day.

@Fozzy, amazing how we see ourselves vs how other sees us. We are more critical of ourselves and less forgiving. Reminds me to not judge myself too harshly.

I can't remember where I read it recently, but someone offered the advice "Never tell yourself something you wouldn't say to your own daughter".

Re: What if every woman was beautiful? (social experiment)

Love your responses, everyone! I thought it was a really cool video and I wonder how I'd answer it. My fiance thinks I'm beautiful, and I've been told different compliments on my looks, from men I've dated, but do *I* think I'm beautiful? Maybe the women in the video felt uncomfortable answering it because they feel there is just ''one'' answer, and they don't fit that answer, or they feel that they'd be viewed as arrogant if they answered ''yes, I do!'' That's what I think is interesting about it too, it got me to think.

Beauty is also not skin deep as we know. Who you are on the inside, can impact how you appear to others on the outside.

hmm it's being filmed so is the use of pen and paper for writing responses... or for exchanging phone numbers?

Wait, do people even write their phone numbers anymore?

Interesting experiment.
He seems to have asked the questions to women that were around the same age (college age?).

I would be curious to know the responses if he were to ask older women (30/35+)

If I was stopped and asked, 'Is it hard being a beautiful person?' ....I'd likely just laugh and say, 'Thanks!' with cynicism.
