Yeah, we did. Go figure! He's at his 12 step SAA meeting tonight and he is pretty much the poster boy for 'remorseful'. I'm pretty lucky - when I read a lot of the stories on here, I realize that every day! What I think it was Beowulf wrote about the WS committing murder - that was what he did to himself and our marriage, and it's been horrible to live through. But I'm over the worst I think and I am pretty happy right now

You gotta admit, the mind movie of him actually counting out coins for a street hooker to give him a blow job is pretty comical. I can just imagine what she was thinking. And since him admitting this to me, which I would have NEVER found out about otherwise, was his rock bottom, I can look at it as the blip that knocked his head back on straight now.

Sometimes you have to laugh so that you don't cry.

We joke about a dark period of abuse in our marriage.

He had to go to court mandated counseling and I refused to have my husband in the home until it was completed.

Now when we play fight or joke about beating each other up, I just say "I'm calling Nexus!!" Nexus is the name of the counseling service.

He once pretended to call the cops because I shook my fist at him comically. "Hello Officer? My wife is brandishing her fist at me and I am scared. Please come and take her to jail."

We have been through hell and now we live in a strange heaven, where life is never perfect yet it is still bathed in the glow of love and partnership.

How wonderful that Hope1964's husband is taking responsibility and attending 12 step meetings. It is much easier to repair a broken marriage, if the offending partner is willing to take serious steps in order to change.

Doesn't matter if you're together or divorced - you have to let the bad things go somehow. That's great that you guys can laugh about it TOGETHER!
