For starters, it's hard to accept Jerry O'Connell as a genius. The character of the Crying Man was difficult to watch as he is a borderline minstrel character. (I almost expected him to scream at one point, "Feets don't fail me now!") To add the computer animated special effects were extremely dated. | Had this same exact reaction when my wife and I recently started watching X-Files on Amazon Instant Video. Remember it being super interesting and suspenseful as a kid. Now it kind of comes across as cheesy. I still remember the cultural phenomenon it was at the time, though.
