Day of Triffids . Ok, it's not my very favorite, but everything else I like has already been mentioned.

Do you ever watch a SciFi movie where one or two redeeming characteristics almost save it from being an absolutely horrible movie?

For me, Priest was that movie. Karl Urban's vampire character contained the 60 seconds that was sadwiched between really bad movie scenes. I'm talking about the scene where the vampires were destroying the small western town, contrasted with his enjoyment of classical music.

I went to college on a literary scholarship of all things, although I changed to applied mathematics (Geek, I admit). One of my professors maintained that Sci-Fi and Fantasy were fundamentally flawed literary forms because its writers were largely engineers, who thought of literary prose as a series of binary digits.

I've just never "gotten" Jessica Alba. There have been a few times where I've almost said, "OK...I see the appeal," then that sense disappears as quickly as it came. It's not like I think she's UNattractive, but I agree with a local talk radio host. Several ears ago, commenting on her high placement on some "hot 100" list, said that, if she weren't an actress, she wouldn't be "hot"...she'd be that cute girl you kinda notice in the food court and forget about 30 seconds later.

I haven't read all the pages, but Sliders was a good sci-fi tv show.

i remember watching the 80's flash gordon flick. i know it was cheesy as hell, but i can't get enough of the soundtrack- queen rocks.

i especially love the part where the hawkmen swoop down on the ship and the music is just going off.
