I think there are different levels of trolling.

FWIW, while I think the first reason for a thread is for the OP, I think there is just as much to be gained amongst other posters interacting. So when folks go, hey the OP has gone or was a driveby, I say so what? If there is dialogue going on then good. Let it run its course.

I do think some folks trickle information to see where they can take the story. They seemingly go out of their way to bate and switch people. They try to offer up a morality play and throw in twists to test how people react.
