| Re: Who's your favorite "old school" cartoon character?
don't get me started
I'm somewhat of an expert on cartoon film shorts, in particular the WB ones.
I can look at most old Warner Brothers cartoons and within 2-5 seconds I can name the director, title, characters, voices (well most were Mel Blanc), musical director (most were Stalling) and plot and most of the jokes.
To me, I prefer the director over the characters. Altho some directors created some characters and were the only ones to use them at the time. (ie. Foghorn Leghorn is almost always a McKimson directed cartoon, Sylvester, Tweety was Freleng and Marvin Martian, Coyote, Pepe was Chuck Jones)
My favorite director was Chuck Jones
he made the best WB cartoons, including What's Opera Doc?, Duck Amuck, and One Froggy Evening
He also did the Grinch cartoon for TV
