the only people that use fahrenheit are the tabloid press because saying '35 degree' scorcher isn't quite as sensational as '100 degree' scorcher heh

So many threads where this could fit in, but ...

The salmon berries are getting ripe up here now. The color is BEAUTIFUL. I'd like to try to make a wine out of them, but I'm not sure I can get enough to make a big enough batch to be worth it. I also have two carboys full of cider right now, and that doesn't exactly suck, you know ...

For the "Show your bush" thread, in the next few weeks, our blackberries will begin to bloom. I know blackberries are just beginning to ripen for those of you in the south and midwest, but ours don't ripen until late August or September. I'm going to show what thick wild bushes full of blooms look like in that thread as soon as they are in full bloom . It's the first stage of blackberry wine (which makes me think of SW ... I've had a couple of glasses of blackberry wine tonight, and thought it was too bad she wasn't online for me to raise a "cheers" to since she always talks about loving wine - blackberry is FANTASTIC!!! I'll raise a glass to the rest of my friends and hope one of you likes wine, too.)

So while I'm thinking about making salmonberry wine (but probably won't this year), and dreaming of the first stage of this year's blackberry wine, I thought it worth pointing out (something that might go in one of the pics threads) that even though we pick our own blackberries from the epic blackberry patches around here, they're not exactly free. I was looking at a picture of my bloodied wrists after a blackberry picking session last year ... that picture will never make it to the "scars" thread.

Ramble done. I raise a glass of blackberry wine to whomever will toast with me tonight and say "cheers."
