Ok. As a fun thing to do, in the past year, we started making music videos to my friends music he writes. it's mathmetal/deathmetal/metalcore whatever you want to call it.
we were coming up with ideas for the next video after our last one, and we now have the base idea.
My question is,
if you were to imagine innocence, and then imagine the polar opposite, what comes to mind?
This is a major part I am personally struggling with, because the representations need to be perfect for what we're doing, and I have to translate that into costume, so it can be further developed into the video.
I know what i want the end result to be, but for example, I don't want to pull the evil sl*tty vs. the perfect princess because that's too cliche, and takes away from the type of turmoil we're trying to represent visually.
my idea is, we're all born innocent, we're corrupted by society, so its a representation of the inner battle between what we are at birth vs what we're developed into as created by the environment we live in.
I'm so jealous!
I've been playing metal guitar off and on for ten years and always wanted to write a song for youtube, but could never finish the lyrics for one that sounded half way good. I can really only write a hook and lead rythem and back up solos on tracks in the style of Dime Bag Darel with the squeel or more of the blacker stuff, but I can't tie any of it together well. Anyways....
Sounds to me like you're looking for the Jekyll and Hyde, we're all born with animalistic natures that a corrupt society tries to contain but breaks the rules themselves..... I'm thinking of the Catholic preists that tell us to be closer to god and then molest little boys. The idea that we promote sex ourselves and then blame poverty stricken neighborhoods for rape and murder. The human slime that shoots up neighborhoods, hangs people of a different race, and bombs hospitals all because someone told them that was the right thing to do.

My buddy has been working on his technique and playing since highschool, he and my ex hubs are two of the most talented guitar players I have met, together they're even more powerful.
Put yourself on youtube, what's stopping you? We made a home made music video, wrote our own lyrics that may have well been lacking, but its not like you can understand it. we had the idea to do them in german, recorded one set in german and it sounded like arnold swartzenegger reciting a poem he wrote in gibberish, its funny, but we still used it. IT doesn't have to be a full song, he puts riffs up and what not constantly.
and if I had the money to go for a vinyl cat suit, what I wouldn't pretend to be to have an excuse to wear it, but I think the cost of catwoman to my standards would be way more than the video will be worth she's a sexy kitty
hobo with a shot gun looks like the best period movie ever O.O

I'm not experienced with making costumes...but I'm thinking maybe there's a way to 'represent' catwoman without it needing to be costly. The mask, whip, boots and ears are clear indications of who you're trying to show.
Or how about a fairy tale character. Such as Red Riding Hood, perhaps start her out as innocent and then reincarnate her as being a bad ass. Anyway, I don't know if I'm way off track but this is where my mind is going. Let us know what you end up creating!
Oh there might be, but I've been drooling over vinyl cat suits for a while I have a thing for wearing vinyl shiny clothing
So we need an excuse for you to get some vinyl shiny clothing. Gotcha. Elektra or Harley Quinn are other options too. Of course, I understand the appeal of the Cat. meow.
You know you could also just wear latex body paint and save a fortune. Just make sure to wear pasties and underwear so yourtube doesn't take your artwork down.

I think I will once I find my guitar in storage.
It's a great movie with a funny retro look and the bad guys straight out of a 80's movie, but it's super bloody. And by that I mean guy loses his head and sprays blood all over strippers while the bad guy in cheap shades grins to 80's synth keyboard music. But it's one of those "so bad it's good" movies like the Evil Dead trillogy or Chucky.
See I'm a little biased and have to go with the family tragedy.... A four year old girl playing in her front yard is innocent, and the monster that took her violated her, and murdered her in ways I can't tell you is pure EVIL. I've seen the evils of men but there is one line you don't cross... no women, no children.
Ok, so I'm part native american, so I have to offer it - innocence can be communion with nature, like a sacred dance in traditional clothing and paint. The opposite is a man in a well tailored suit, getting out of his taxi and entering a modern night club.
Lol, I can only imagine how nerdy that is. Posted via Mobile Device
Maybe a little nerdy, but extremely technical and difficult to pull off in song form. I have a lot of respect for anyone who can do it.
It's really interesting and useful to see the suggestions here, the differences between what everyone envisions, I'll probably end up forming a conglomerate idea from all of them.
