Was having a more serious discussion about this recently with a co-worker.

She met her H on match.com. Said he had all kinds of "weird" pics up - wearing a cowboy hat and riding a horse - on his motorcycle.

Unlike that classic "mirror" shot - it shows you aren't just hanging around at home in the bathroom waiting for someone to reply to your ad!

Same with women and dogs. Would never put my kids in a pic like that - but would be sure to mention them in the "text."

And to answer your question directed at the ladies, unless the man looked downright awful (creepy looking or grotesquely overweight), I paid less attention to the photo than to what they would write about themselves. Profiles with lots of spelling/grammatical errors were dismissed.

Yep, I'm in the States. I've seen a fair number of motorcycle pics, too, but they're vastly outnumbered by the fish pics. To answer nice777guy: they're wearing regular fishing stuff, some even with the hats that have the little covering for the back of the neck (and no, that doesn't give you a dashing French Foreign Legion look, guys). Wide variety of fish sizes, too. I suck at fishing, but even I know better than to pose with a puny fish -- even if it was the biggest I'd ever caught, LOL.

@ CandieGirl -- Yep on the grammar/spelling errors. If you don't care enough to use spell check, what else don't you care about? Personal hygiene?

If that's the kind of guy posting the pic, then it would be best for him to post it WITH the fish. It's self screening. It saves you and him BOTH some time.
