Timing's right for the Popmart concert (which I was also at), but I distinctly remember Raye Against the Machine as an opener for that one (because I could t wait for them to get off the stage).

To the best of my knowledge, I've only missed one or two of U2's stops in Dallas since 1987...one that I didn't know about (a second stop on the Elevation tour) and the show for the Vertigo tour, because tickets sold out in 30 seconds.

Not my FIRST, but the BEST concerts I ever saw:

#1: Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (where they recorded their 'Live Bullet' album.....it rocked the sh!t !)

#2: Cat Stevens 'Farewell' tour (he was incredible)

Did you get to see them at the Death Star when they came through for the 360 tour a few years ago?

I only really headed to Deep Ellum if Ten Hands was playing. I miss those guys.

Well... There was also that one time I took a gf who was on her way out down to see Dogstar, or whatever the hell the name of Keanu Reeves' band was. She thought he was oh so dreamy...I thought that at least getting her in a room to see him in person might earn me some brownie points. It didn't...and, man, were they...average. There seemed to be two types of guys at that show: the ones with their arms dutifully around their dates, frequently checking their watches, and the ones traveling in packs, hitting on the large number of (apparently) single females at the show.

Ten Hands' J Paul Slavens has recently been gathering up gig performance videos and posting them to YouTube, and cross linking on the Ten Hands Facebook account. I've still got my CD's of "The Big One Is Coming," "Be My Guru," and "Jazz For Jerks." Even recorded the audio from the cassette of "Kung Fu...That's What I Like" to digital and burned it to CD. Still trying to track down recordings of all of the tracks from the elusive "The Big One That Got Away" so I can make myself a copy of it.

I think the last time I headed to Ellum was back in '03. Ten Hands did a reunion gig at Club Dada. First and only time my wife's gotten to see them live.

Is that what they do at the Tacoma Dome? I've been wondering for quite a while ... I really didn't know ...
