I was always closest to the door.... no matter where we slept... and hubby makes it a point to sleep by the window.... Sometimes I may be on the right and sometimes on the left.. but whichever it is... he is always by the window... lol.

I wonder if the tendency has something to do with whether the husband or wife is left or right handed. In particular, if the wife tends to roll toward her husband, put her head on his shoulder and drape a leg over him. Or am I the only one that gets that treatment.

Thinking ... if it is that, then it is probably more comfortable for the man to have the wife's head on his stronger side shoulder, and thinking ... if I did want to sleep with one leg draped, then it would seem to be more comfortable to sleep with the stronger side leg draped.

Since we trade sides, I don't think that holds true all the time for us, but it seems like it could be a possible explanation.

I also wonder for those of us who are accustomed to sleeping with a husband/wife ... on those nights when you are alone (travelling, or spouse travelling), do you wake up in the morning and find you've only slept on one side of the bed? Maybe the covers on the other half are still completely undisturbed?

If im on my back then hubby on my right,im closer to bathroom,usually one dog betwen us and the other on husbands side after his bedtime cuddle.lol

I'm away from home this week and still sleeping on left side of the bed. In the mornings the right side is immaculate, sheets still tucked in etc.
it's where he's meant to be.
