I figured this was the best place to post this.... but feel free to list anything weird you have done during your pregnancy(only if you wish to that is) such as eating mud, sniffing cardboard, ect. For me..... a few weird things I've done so far.... was sniff toiletpaper and the cardboard part or any cardboard in general. Dunno why but I really like the smell for some reason... lol. I've also had to have my plants on the right side of the window.... otherwise it irks me... which it never has before....
I was really trying hard to eat healthier on what little money we had. Fruit and veggies had skyrocketed in price over here. So I had bought a tin of canned corn kernels. They made me feel SO sick. Every morning, I would go down to the fridge and just stare at these things in the container in the fridge for almost 5 minutes and sigh. Every time I opened the fridge door, I glared at them. Couldn't eat them. But didn't want to waste money and throw them away.
My h came out in the middle of the night to see me talking into the fridge angrily. I was so sick of these damn corn kernels but felt so guilty about throwing them away, that I had to work myself up into a small rage to feel justified about doing it. Chuck in the hormones (and I was so good during pregnancy- virtually no mood swings otherwise), and it was quite a bit of abuse I was hurling at the corn. I think my h was waiting for me to tell him Zuul was in the fridge and that eggs would start frying themselves on the benchtop lol.
With both pregnancies, my wife craved hot foods. We started buying Tobasco in the big bottles. As a nurse at the time (she later became a nurse practicioner), she had taken care of a local man who owned a very popular Mexican restaraunt, and his wife began calling her their daughter. Once I met him, we all became good friends. My wife and I ate there all the time, and he joked about how her baby was going to be bald, because the hair would be burned off (both were bald).
Near the land where my grandmother's tribe lived, there was large amounts of kaolin visible in the ground. It looks like white chalk. I found it interesting when I lived there that pregnant women would sometimes purify it and eat it. My grandmother said that small portions had been eaten by pregnant women for many generations, and it gave healthy babies. They craved it, they said, because you could smell it in the air within the area. A biology professor explained while I was in college that it was based on nutritional needs, but that pregnant women of the tribe had eaten it for generations because it draws out toxic minerals of normal foods.
Third: started eating peanut butter (but I hate peanut butter) and couldn't eat any meat for first 6 months. Then, at a BBQ, ate 2 huge slabs of prime rib. LOL
I was way into hot foods too. There was this awesome Mexican restraint near my work that's been there so long my parents had their first date there (been married 33 years). I used to get chips and extra hot salsa almost every day. So much so that they knew mr by name and also made my salsa hotter than normal like I like it. Mmmm now I want chips and salsa.
I also had crazy cravings for coffee which I have never drank regularly. The smell is still intoxicating to me even after the pregnancy. But I dont drink it still
I didn't do any really weird stuff that I can think of. But I had cravings. Not for anything the whole time, but if I thought of a food I wanted, I had to have it right there and then. I vaguely remember at our old house that I wanted bacon or something one night but it was really late and we didn't have any so I got really upset. I literally couldn't stop thinking about it. Hubs did a lot of late night trips. I think he enjoyed the quiet drive
I craved watermelon during my 1st pregnancy. I ate it daily. During my 2nd pregnancy, I became grossed out by the smell of cooked broccoli and the sight of bloody steak. I had always been a medium rare steak eater but immediately became a well done steak eater. Bleh!

I have to watch out what i say when talking about food if i mention it it best be in the house or I will be going get it. Lets not forget that we are the owner of a bird also (likes the bird)
I don't remember having any cravings, but the smell of bacon (which I love) made me really, really sick.
When I went into labor, and my husband took me to the hospital, I tried to convince him to take me home. I kept thinking that the pain didn't get bad till we got to the hospital, so if I could just go home the pain would go away. I wasn't thinking very rationally by that point
When I was pregnant with my son I was obsessed with ice cream from Chick-Fl-A. I went there so often they knew me by name. I would go thru the drive-thru at 7:00am every morning on my way to work and they would have a vanilla ice cream cone waiting for me. I would bring it to work and eat it at my desk, everyone made fun of me for that.
I was also obsessed with coke flavored slurpees. We would drive to every convenience store in town keeping tabs on who had them (since they change the flavors in those icee machines a lot). I hate that crap normally.
I also chewed ice and would get big cups of ice to take everywhere.
And I had that aversion to meat as well. Especially raw. I would go through phases where certain smells would make me gag. One of them was that awful ax body spray...some guy at work bathed in that crap I swear and I would leave the office because it stunk so bad. The smell of pizza also made me want to barf. i was fine with me oldest...but the mulitpuls....that is where my ocd kicked up, i had/have the nose of a blood hound...and the hearing of a safe cracker...
i grew up on coke, but i couldnt tolerate it....if i thought i smelled it, i would run for the bathroom....
i couldnt ride in the car, unless i had a huge roll of paper towels since i had motion sickness...
that pregnancy is where i really hated hearing chewing, and drinking. i was in the car with my mom, she had a coffee...and took a drink...more like a GULP...i believe i started screaming like a psycho, about how loud and gross that was....
I didn't know I was pregnant til I was in labour so I couldn't tell ya
Ok. I totally believe you, but please EXPLAIN this because there's no way I wouldn't have known I was pregnant. My belly was HUGE both times and so much movement from the babies!
