That is so cool Stonewall .... "Heartsbeating" was a DJ too !
Really thats the bomb! yeah I was a DJ at the tender age of 15 - 17.It was really cool at that age. East coast girl would come and sit with me through the whole show, We were always together
I was thinking the same thing, "Hey, I went to high school with these guys".
Yep I had 2 of them first was puke green with 3 in the floor and second on was red automatic with AC. The very wide front bench seat was very accommodating to extracurricular activity.

I don't have many old photos scanned but I did come across one that I was tempted to post but chickened out. I'd like to have the ability to remove it later lol and can't figure that part out.

aww...!
I started around 16 guest-spotting then had a show from 17 - early 20's. In my last year on-air, I asked hubs to co-host with me. It was a lot of fun.

If you post it elsewhere (like on skydrive or flikr), then if you want to remove it from here, and be absolutely sure it won't show up in anybody's quotes either, then remove it from skydrive or flikr, and upload it again. That will change the URL, so none of the posts here will be able to find it ... so it will only show up with a red x in a square on this site.
But, of course, if it shows up here, people can download it from the page and save it on their computer ... don't know who would want to do that, but before you decide to make it available, it's good to consider that people can.

Mostly radio but played a few gigs too (clubs/events).
I was around 75 - 77 all radio no clubs, Top 40 stuff. Control boards were all switches and pots, ads and what not were on carts that looked like 8 track tapes. you had to load them and pull a lever back to raise the roller into them. still had some reel to reel stuff and off course dual turntables. Everythings diff now. All digital.

How neat!
Mine was local radio, which meant no Top 40. Each show had to be unique to each other. To get a spot you had to apply to the board with the concept of show, what it'd be named, target listeners etc. then wait until a time-slot became available if they liked what you could bring and after you'd had your on-air trial.
The studio sounds quite similar to what you have described. I used vinyl for my show. There were 2 x Technics 1200 turntables, CD players and an old reel to reel (but I don't think it was used by anyone). Commercials were played with cart tapes - sounds similar to what you used. The carts were lined up in a rack behind the panel and I was given a list of which commercials to play. There were 4 boxed players for the carts. I had to push the cart in slightly ahead of time to get it ready, and when it was time for commercials, hit the green lights on each player. In the clubs, it was turntables (vinyl) and a mixer. I am clueless about what the crazy youngsters do these days!
I hope you took a photo of the studio/panel. That would be a cool thing to look back on.
I just don't think anyone would find you...and even if they did, what are you worried about... your posts are all so "sweet" lovable and decent.....very honorable. Nothing to be ashamed of.
How about one in your Roller Derby gear, heck my husband might like to see that !
Can I pull off being shy?
As for the Roller Derby, lol, I am a spectator. Maybe one day...but I'd have to be the fast one at the front because I'd be shreaking if I saw a pack of girls coming at me to make me fall.

I don't know why I was thinking you participated.... boy was I ever off... I was thinking, darn, that must be exciting.....and dangerous! My husband hates sports .....Roller Derby women would be his exception...he has some kind of allure to rough & tough women.
If more were open to showing themselves, I think others would... you are clearly in the majority here.
Anyway...I've already seen you behind the cat mask (thanks for being a friend ).... Heartsbeating is very beautiful, she is a site prettier than that silly doll a few post back.. ha ha

We did converse about Roller Derby before, so it was a fair call on your part.
