2 of our favorites in our limited traveling adventures.....when you minus the Yogi Bear Campgrounds.....(the only pics that are mine is the ones we are in)....
This was a place with endless Hiking trails, waterfalls, Caves, secluded Country Cabins & hot tubs.... Hocking Hills Ohio... a romantic destination last year....the most beautiful trails & scenery we've ever walked. Our GPS went haywire, no cell phone reception.... but it makes for a peaceful vacation spot to get away from it all.
Our Cabin in the woods... and the scenery from the porch:
They had an ice skating rink, horse back riding, speed boat rides, paddle boats, hiking trail, entertainment, archery, riding bikes, all kinds of sporting activities...
Location: On a clear day, I can see Mt. Rainier ... but you can't count on the days to be clear here ...

Right on the border of California and Nevada is Lake Tahoe. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful lake in North America. It's personality is completely different in summer and winter, but whatever the season, the pictures can speak for themselves.

I couldn't agree more!!! If I could afford to live and raise my family there, I would seriously consider it (though likely on the Nevada side... no state income tax thank you very much!).

Re: Post your travel pics
August of 2011, we took a camping trip to the wilderness area around Mt. Baker Washington. This is in the extreme northern part of Washington - almost to Canada. This is August, and there is snow in many of the places we hiked, but that phenomenon of thin air is that it can be warm enough for short sleeves, but not have enough heat to melt much snow. One of our highlights was having a snowball fight in short sleeves ... in August . Here are a few shots of the Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan area.
Mt. Shuksan from a lookout area along the road on the way in and out.
At the ranger station when we checked out the trail conditions:
Nooksack falls on the north fork of the Nooksack river and the area around it where he took a short hike as we approached the campgrounds. The water is glacier melt and that is what gives it the color:
(I love the mossy carpet like that)
The north fork of the Nooksack river ran just behind our campsite. In the morning, we splashed our faces with water from the river which is guaranteed to WAKE YOUR TIRED BUTT UP! (This water was glacier ice just a short distance upstream). After hiking in the evening, we soaked our feet in the river which is actually painful for a few seconds before it becomes soothing. This is upstream from the falls in the pictures above:
Foxgloves are just one of the spectacularly colored wildflowers in this area:
Mirror lake was covered in snow on the first day we were there. By the last day, it had melted enough to give us a reflective look at Mt. Shuksan. We are standing on the slopes of Mt. Baker when we take this picture (Taken with my windows phone):
Other shots of Mt. Baker:
On the way up:
Another vantage point. From here, you can see the glaciers a lot better (But I still couldn't get the blue color right ... ):
Zooming in on the glaciers on Mt. Shuksan (Got a little more blue in this, but still, the glaciers are a much deeper blue):

I have some posted on my profile page from our 39th anniversary trip to the Riviera Maya last year. For our 40th we are going to Florida next week (even though our anniversary is in July). I will post some pics after that (at least the ones I can show).

Re: Post your travel pics
This one is vacation (Not work). This is summer of 2010.
The town of Avalon on Santa Catalina Island:
Then on down to La Bufadora (The Blowhole ... LFFA, are you still looking? I know you'll have a comment here). This is near Ensenada Mexico. This phenomenon is caused by the ocean coming into a tunnel that narrows, then turns upward. The ocean waves causes the water to shoot into the air.

Re: Post your travel pics
I just found some really good pictures from September 2010 in Juneau Alaska, and some from Yosemite that I have not posted in other threads that include shots of Yosemite falls and Half Dome from Glacier Point. In those shots, I'm about even with the top of Yosemite falls and can see the entire length of the falls on the other side of the canyon ... and can mix in some other good Yosemite pics. If anybody is still looking at what I'm posting on this thread and want to see them, let me know.
I also have some good pics from Paris, and a few other spots, but I'm not sure who is still interested ...

SG: I've noticed that your wife never seems to smile in all these pics. Now, mind you........if she's tired of being dragged all over the world, I'd be a more-than-happy fill in!!
