The first time I took the test I was 21 and just out of the service. I was an INTP on that test. Since then I've done it 3 or 4 times and have been INTJ. But apparently I'm very close to the line for j vs p.

yeah I've done this profiling over the years too, always IN but when I was younger I used to always come up XP (X meaning on the fence between T and F) But now it seems I always come up J, and vary widely between T and F.

it is all just too complicated, because for me its inconsistent enough that its like reading horoscopes then realizing you read the wrong one.

INFP here -- consistently, and over years. H is INTJ, and we mesh very well.

I first took the test as a teenager and a few times since for required personality testing at jobs or just out of curiosity. There are different tests - Myers-Briggs, Keirsey, and other based on one of these. I've always been INTP, regardless of which test it was. Getting different results usually means you are right on the line and have characteristics of both types. I bet a lot of people also get different results if they tested at a young age and then again years later because they're still developing and changing. I think the younger you are, the more likely you are to answer the questions with what you want to be like rather than how you actually are based on past experience.

Accoding to that test, I'm ISFJ. I don't even know what that means. It says The Nurturer.

Even Perceivers have to make Judgements sometimes!

These things aren’t written in blood. We’re all a mixture of everything and all capable of the various flavours, I doubt there’s a Mr or Mrs Totally Vanilla anywhere except in an asylum. We do though have biases and competences and places where we feel comfortable in and will always more or less default to after an excursion.

I'm an ISFJ. That's what I scored back in high school too when I first took the test.

I am a:

-moderately expressed introvert

-slightly expressed sensing personality

-moderately expressed feeling personality

-moderately expressed judging personality

INFJ - the Protector, apparently I'm rare. (and I actually remember hitting this one a few times when doing these tests)

That was a long time ago and most likely, no longer true today.

Being rare is a good thing. You have a gift that others don't have.
nope, pretty dominant right hand. I spent a little more time looking up personality websites and have to agree with the descriptions for INFJ - it is pretty much me to a T, with only a very few tiny but complete differences (in terms of preferences and such, such as classic movies versus a really well crafted sci-fi). I definitely have had my bouts of purism, but I find that it comes and goes and I can be very excepting of flaws - almost like they are a necessary part of what being "pure" really means. It is kind of interesting and insightful to read up on it, knowing that I think I have nailed down my "type" finally.

well when I ride a skateboard or snowboard I am goofy footed, maybe that is part of it, and thanks for the compliment on the photos - I really enjoyed making them and having a reason to explore...

Lon & CoffeeAmore--we are the same then! I went and read an article on what ISFJ is and actually it does fit me too a tee! LOL.

How rare is it to score that one, Lon? Do they have stats on it?

My MBTI Personality Type - My MBTI Results - How Frequent Is My Type?

I think there are big differences between sexes too (like INTJ is almost exclusively male and very rare in females). ISFJ's are about 14% of the population, INTJ is like 2% and me the INFJ is 1%

ISFJ fits me too. I am nurturing and protective. I even nurture stray animals for an animal organization as if I don't have enough on my plate!

Frequency of Personality Types

Then I must think like a guy. 80% of people with my type are men.

Statistics are usually misleading. What if SJs are just more likely to take personality tests and that's why they seem to be 40.5% of the population?
