I've told my co-workers how much fun my striptease fitness class has been (no stripping, just moves and really is a pretty good workout), so one of them decided to try it tonight. She's been to lots of dance classes before (including a burlesque fitness class), unlike moi.
Well, of course, tonight, for the first time in all the weeks I've been there, the teacher actually had us practice real stripping. I was petrified because I've never done anything like that in the first place, but then to do it in front of my friend/co-worker!! After we were down to bras & yoga pants, the teacher then had us pair up & take turns doing a personal dance as if we were doing it for a partner, complete with touching each other's bare arms & shoulders. So, of course, guess who I was paired up with?
We all just giggle and laugh during most of the classes anyway, but still I kept apologizing over and over -- I had no idea that we'd do anything like that. When the teacher wanted to finish the class by going all the way down to our panties & bras, we both said, um, no. Turns out she'd never had to do anything like that in her burlesque class, either!
So tonight it was more striptease and less fitness. Perfect. Yep, tomorrow's gonna be awkward, just sayin'.
oh there's nothing like doing a striptease to bring you closer with your colleague
Don't sweat it (if you are, you might not). It likely will bring you closer if you're on a friendly level already. It will be something you can both chat about and laugh about together. Nothing like some awkward human moments to break down a few walls between potential friends!

After being molested by a yoga teacher, I now question fitness teachers. While I was reading your post I was thinking "wait a minute, that teacher just wanted to see all of you half naked and experimenting with lesbianism."
While you are feeling uncomfortable, your teacher is home with a FULL SPANK BANK!!!
I am surprised the teacher didn't give warning ahead of time: next week, clothes off! I'd imagine the movements could be practiced/learned with clothes on.
I really doubt that she's a lesbian. She's a hot-looking grandmother, former Mrs. [my state] Pageant winner, and now has a pretty hot younger boyfriend. She'd probably have us practice on guys if she could, and she's hilarious. A big part of it for her is to get women to feel comfortable with their bodies and sexuality and push us to feel more confident. And until tonight, it was working pretty well, LOL.

She may have -- money was tight and I missed last week.
So ok, I was watching a documentary not that long ago. It was actually about feminism and stripping. One segment showed a group of women of all ages, some of them married and some not, taking a pole dancing class. Ok coolness. Pole dancing is quite demanidng. It was stated that typically these classes for women are closed to just the students, but that this course allowed / invited an audience in the later weeks of training prior to their final "show". In the final show the women actually did pole dances at a local strip club on amateur night.
I have never pushed my wife to take a pole dancing class but I have teased her about me buying a pole for our living room. I think I actually had her worried I was serious for a while. I do however suggest her to take some Belly Dancing classes which I think would be very cool. Opa!!!
I've taken belly dancing classes a couple of times. It's a great no-impact workout and a lot of fun (costumes, veils, etc. ) Our community-ed program offers them every year, along with the local dance studios. It's really popular here.
I happened to see an article in a magazine a couple of days ago that mentioned how some women are now becoming strippers because they got laid off from their regular jobs and it pays better than anything else they could get. I was shocked to see that more than a few 'got their start' by taking a class like the one I'm taking. I don't think any of us are ready for the 'big time.'
So - any guys in the class? I've thought about signing up for something like this - just to lend moral support to my classmates!!!
Would have been funny if you showed up at work the next day and people kept handing you one dollar bills!!! Well - if you find sexual harassment funny that is!

Ha ha -- no guys in the class. Though the new studio we're in doesn't have curtains that close as well as the old one. If you're there at the right time, you can wander by on the sidewalk and see the whole thing. That's a secret I'm not telling any locals.
