I don't know if there was a thread about this subject, but what the hell.
What is your favorite movie? You can only pick ONE. Which movie stands above the rest? I know it's hard, so think hard.

Mine is Goodfellas, hands down. I am watching it right now for the millionth time. Every year after Christmas dinner, hubby and come home and watch Goodfellas, it's OUR xmas movie.
Endlessgrief, tough question. Guess I'm going with a film that I've watched a lot over the years and still get things from it now and then. Normally I'm not a big action film buff but:
The Matrix, has to be one of my top picks - not that is is the best acted, most timeless, most original... just that it is the most re-watchable to me.
There are others that to me I will watch once every other year for the rest of my life (Stand By Me, Forrest Gump, Caddyshack, Anything by Pixar, Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner, the list would go on and on) But if I was stuck tied to a chair with my eyelids removed in front of a screen the rest of my life forced to watch a movie... well actually I think I'd rather just die, lol.
Not that there isn't lots of other great movies on this thread, just why would you spoil a classic by making it the only one?
