It looks like porridge which I'm not too fond of but still I need to try grits before I die. Do you guys remember that scene in My Cousin Vinny when he tries grits? Ever since then I've wanted to try grits.
I love porridge, and I love cornmeal, polenta etc. Perhaps it was just the way my grandma prepared it, I recall he said he likes it different than how some people prepare it, it was a long time ago but I found it greasy, bitter and hard/course like a mouthful of sand. Looked great, tasted like crap.
Another thing I haven't tried is grits. I want to try it. Where we live currently there's not one place I can think of that serves grits for breakfast.
Oh that is a tragedy!!! I can mail you some, if you'd like!!! Just follow the directions for cooking them..............then add salt and butter to taste. DEEEEEElish!!! Or you also add your favorite cheese. We've used goats cheese before..........divine!!!!!!!!

lol one thing i miss about being in nebraska is buying that type of food... and the asian food from hy vee... oh i loved it!! My favs were the black peppered duck, sesame chicken, and vegitable lao mein.... think thats how it's spelled... Haven't been able to get meals like that here in louisiana... haven't seen a hyvee :/
