Um, not to start a battle here, but it is what you make it. Not all SAHMs are the same. I worked academic year one year, and during that summer 'off,' I redid the flooring in half the downstairs, painted and put up moulding in our living and dining rooms, built a railing on our back deck, stained front and back deck, refinished some furniture, and landscaped -- along with the usual cooking, housecleaning, laundry and taking care of DS who was about 2 1/2 at the time. We had one car, so I was totally isolated, too. But STBXH was the one who 'worked' however, and since he was tired from 'working', he went out with friends after work most nights. It was the loneliest, worst, overworked time in my life.
That's not to say I disagree with you, T_G, just that not all SAHMs are the same.

This is true.... and like i said... i sometimes find myself horribly envious of the SAHM's who go out to spa's during the day, clubbing, drinking, ect while their kids are being babysat by someone else or in daycare.
Re: Things or people that really get under your skin!
Cleaning house isn't a bad thing imo... but when they do it to go out and screw around such as going out to drink everyday or clubbing... ... that is when i ask.. "really?"
Re: Things or people that really get under your skin!
lol the few i know aren't rich ... their hubbies work long hours and they love to go drinking all day rather then do anything such as cook, clean, ect... they leave it to their hubby to do all that when he gets home. They sure love spending that money though on their own needs... Yes I know a few cruddy people.. lol.
Re: Things or people that really get under your skin!
lol funny thing is... these women .. have the nerve to act snobbish toward me!! I'm a SAHM as well but i bust my ass cleaning, cooking... (although i do admit i microwave some meals or hubby cooks them sometimes) potty training, teaching the kids their numbers, alphabets, colors, shapes, ect... running after them sometimes when they decide to be brats and mess with something they aren't suppose to.. Although moving lately is a hassle for me... i feel like a damn 98 year old woman sometimes!! With all the joint pain, hip pain, back pain, ect... it sucks... and i can't help disliking those women who can easily toss their kids off and go to a spa all day everyday, go drinking, ect. If hhs decides to even help with childcare.. yeah i plan on putting my kids in it.. but only because i want to be able to work again... Besides we could use that extra income.. :/ One kid.. sure it was alright.. two kids... a bit of a hassel.. and now a third!! yeah... gonna need some extra money.. lol.

People who jump into conversations that do not concern them.
I have found that mostly women have been like this....they had the nerve to confront me about something I said WHEN I WAS NOT SPEAKING TO THEM. Just yesterday this occured on the way to school. I sharply reminded the nosy woman that I was not talking to her and she needed to get out of my conversation and mind her own business.
It's pure arrogance that leads people to think they have control over what strangers say. Even if what people say is offensive, I refuse to take them on. I do not govern other people's mouths.

I'm assuming you mean something along the lines of... say.... walking through a store(for example) talking to a buddy or someone about something and suddenly someone else comes up and give their opinion? At least ... that's what I'm picturing from your post...

For the most part I agree with that. But.....if they are using offensive language loudly and in ear shot of my kids I will say something. They can say what they want, but no need to yell "motherf***er!" right next to my 3 yr old.
Re: Things or people that really get under your skin!
Oh here's one...one of my needy friends calls my cell when I'm not up to talking or busy so then she calls my house phone every 15 minutes because she knows we don't have c,aller ID but she will not leave a message...gosh I hate the phone, feel like ripping it out of the wall sometimes Posted via Mobile Device
