I want to get this to plant in the land we decide to get later on... i think it would be a gorgeous center piece... course I'd be growing it from a seed lol. I plan on starting everything out as a seed for the most part when i get that land.

I've been adding a lot this year. I put out around 20 varieties of gladiolus bulbs (some were 2012 introductions) earlier in the spring. New day lily varieties, strawberries, gardenias, geraniums, and a few new varieties of hendra helix (ivy) have also been added. When July and August roll around, I'll be busy planting more tall bearded irises. I pre-ordered at least another 30 varieties.

That's the highlights anyway. I'm sure I have left out some.

My wife and I are where plants go to die...

We'll have to live vicariously.

No seriously. I'm pretty good with most trees but other than that - forget it. I have a friend who can literally grow anything - he just looks at it and it grows - stuff that no way in hell should it grow here but for him it does. Every once in a while he'll give me a plant or something and say, "this is easy, you can't kill it." As soon as he hands it to me the meter is running for that poor plant.

You should really get a desert rose. The only thing they require is full sun, watering once a week in the summer, once or twice a month in winter, and if you live where it gets below fifty.. keep it inside because it can't survive in weather below 50 degrees.
