I'm a well-known plane nut (look at my avatar!), and one time, a bible thumper told me and a group of friends that "the good lord never intended for us to fly".

So I asked her: "Then why did he give us the intelligence to build planes?"

She had no answer.

I am absolutely CERTAIN I have been on the flight with this guy. As a matter of fact, I think I remember the intro word for word.

On another SW flight, we had a rough landing and the flight attendant said something like "As soon as Batman and Robin get us pulled in to the gate ... "

I had a few times where the flight attendant sang:

We love you, you love us
We're much faster than the bus
And we hope you've enjoyed our hospitality
Marry one of us and you'll fly free

Then while people were laughing, added, "But believe me, it'd be much cheaper to just buy a ticket.

I used to fly southwest a lot just because their rewards program was hands down the best of the airlines. They had some ... interesting folks aboard, though ... I liked that their flight attendants had the freedom to show personality, and some of them are REALLY funny.

They changed their reward program and now I don't fly them very much ...

That was hilarious! I once had a flight attendant who did all of the announcements in different accents--French, German, Yiddish, and Russian. His last announcement was "Be careful opening the overhead bins--shift happens!"
