Then spent 1.5 hrs going nowhere - the Motorway is closed as a body had been found on it Tried lots of alternatives but never got more than 5 miles from home ! Have given up, delegated my work over the phone for today . Am watching daytime TV with the lappy and a packet of rolos instead
But , believe it or not, we have constant DROUGHT warnings and hose pipe bans
It's feast or famine here. This time last year we had record flooding. So much rain the Army Corp of Engineers had to open a flood way that hadn't been used since 1930.
I am just glad for a break in the wind... monday and tuesday was sustained 60km/h winds... broke my bbq, dried out my hanging basket, didn't check to see if any shingles got lifted, almost killed the tree I planted. Lots of branches have come down all over the city.
I should't really have the right to complain though, since its almost always 35km/h sustained winds here, so its not like we don't alreadt have to deal with high wind.
Yep, trees have been brought down torrential rain, even a bit of sleet in the storm this morning.
My wife and I were going to go out to lunch, but we decided to stay in the dry, instead!
My wife and I went house hunting in May when we moved to my current city, and we went from 97 degree (36 C) temperatures to 48 degrees (9 C) when we got off the plane. Neither one of us brought a jacket. Temps started dropping in the afternoon and we had to go to Target to buy a whole different wardrobe.
The trip that almost seemed surreal was when a supplier picked me up in their private jet in an airport with 6 inches of snow, and a heavy parka, and two hours later we landed in the middle of Florida with sunshine and incredibly hot weather. Told my wife that the return flight a few hours later was the most depressing flight of my life. First time ever riding on a private jet, with a full food and drink bar, and I was too depressed to enjoy it.
32 degrees ,and overcast here in Port Of Spain ,Trinidad.
