Another reason to like that town, besides the great beer they make there.

Seriously sick... sexually assaulting a 4-year old girl?!?!? I know at one level we don't want the wild west form of justice... but honestly I'd be OK with giving him a very light sentence. Like anger management classes and 1000 hours of community service.

I agree Browncoat and I think i would feel differently about this if he pulled out a gun or a knife and killed him with that.

If his story checks out, he won't even be charged.

I know what you're saying, but I'm trying to envision the anger management classes for this man... What will they teach him? How not to get angry at some man having his way with his 4 year old daughter?

I'm with GTdad, I don't think the man will get charged, nor under any circumstances do I think he should be.

In defense of a third person.....

We have more loopholes for killing people here in Texas its amazing.
I'm saying that because I love my state. If I walked in on that I don't think I'd even remember what happened from blind rage.

Good for the dad. Guy got what he deserved.

If he hit him a couple of times and it happened to kill him that would be one thing. From the description, sounds like he hit him again and again for a good long while.

That to me sounds like he has an inability to control his rage once it kicks in (trust me I totally sympathize given the circumstances). I just think he needs to talk it over a bit with a professional, to make sure there isn't a larger issue or some unresolved rage left in him that he'll take out on someone else for a far smaller offense.

It wouldn't have to be a big deal, just make sure he talked to a professional at least a few times to evaluate him. To make sure his anger is good and assuaged.

I've heard different stories; this article states that the perp was hit "repeatedly", a TV report stated that he wasonly hit once. But I'm not sure it matters from a criminal justice standpoint, at least here.

As Otter alludes to, the dad could have legally used deadly force to protect his BBQ pit on his property, let alone his daughter.

Ok this is my viewpoint...

A parent or parents have a divine animal right to protect themselves AND their offspring. This Child molestor was clearly preying upon this poor girl... and he forcefully stole her innocense ... He was harming her... so yeah if i were in the fathers position... I'd ****ing go for the kill as well. I don't believe the man needs any therapy for this case since uh it's obvious why he flipped out. Nor do i think he should be charged with anything. If he was... that would just say.. "Oh you don't have the right to defend your own offspring against some sick minded predator." People like THAT should NOT be protected!! Since when was it ever OK??? Seriously... they have no problem killing a dog that bites a child once.... and yet if a child is harmed in an even worse way by a pedo they have to "Consider" how to deal with it? Does that make any sense? That guy deserved to fricken die imo... and hell i woulda done more then just beat the sick bastard to death... i would have cut off his fricken manparts and hung them on a fricken pole.. hell maybe even placed his head atop a damn spike too like in the olden days!!!

This is Texas. . . we can use deadly force to defend a lawn mower. Light sentence my ***, he will (and should) get no sentence.

I'd fight to the death for my BBQ pit, but I may let him have my mower...

This dad deserves no punishment, b/c he showed tremendous restraint. After bare fists, I would have been grabbing every object in the room to bash this POS.
