Used to read Stephen King, will have to look that up on Netflix!
The newer dog.. he's 9 months old now. And he is part mountain goat. He scrambles, no problem. I'm gonna have trouble keeping up to him!! LOL
Waited 3 years to do Ribbon Falls trek. Area was closed for a black bear with babies. Finally did it last summer. It's 18 km's return. It was loooong. Very large waterfall at the end. Was it worth it? Yeah.
Lilian Lake was looong. And elevation up and down. To a mossy looking lake. Not worth it.
Fire lookout hikes are worth it. Very large wildnerness areas here. Some have manned fire lookouts. Remote little hut with satellite, solar panels, and a hermit type person that stays there alone all summer, and "spots" forest fires. Those have crude roads mostly up to the top, so they can bring supplies in, and obviously have an awesome viewpoint at the top.
Best one is Moose Mountain. There is a helipad at the top. The fire lookout does NOT like visitors, and does not want to talk to anyone, LOL. You drive halfway up on a road, and trek the rest of the way, so you get massive elevation. I see people running on that one, getting altitude lung training. Sat on the helipad and dangled my feet over the edge. We were IN the clouds. Saw a bird below me. It took a bit to figure it out. What was that? The top side of a bird flying. Amazing!!!
I did a hike to a fire lookout years ago. We stayed overnight... I will never forget that outhouse.... I'm terribly afraid of heights, so to go sit on a toilet that is hanging over a cliff face, built on two I beams... Opening the lid and looking WAY DOOOOWWWWNNN.... feeling the thing rock with the wind gusts, and the wind blowing on your butt.... Yeah.... LOL. Memory I will never forget!
They have better technology now... burn toilets and chemical. No cliff hanging poops dropping down on hikers LOL I can't get over that image... peeing in into the wind....
One of the dudes I hike with has a nasty habit. We will be hiking along, and he will just stop at the side of the trail. WE stop... what's the problem?? Well, gee, he is taking a leak. Gawd dude, step off into the trees, say something, we don't all wanna see it for pete's sake.
I can't watch jeremy kyle, particularly knowing that he is the LAST PERSON who should be judging anyone
and the fact that they bus people in from rough estates and get them all boozed up and encourage them to fight each other
ick
I have this really weird knack where I can't go on my laptop without having the TV on. lol I'm not actually watching anything but it feels strange just being on the laptop....the room is too quiet without the TV on..... So most of the day I have the news running in the background (only thing I watch to be honest. that and the Million Pound Drop )

My wife's background in psychology shows through, here, I think.
I think she likes to look at dysfunctional people, without having to try to help them fix themselves!
Over the weekend, I decided to try out Torchwood, which is a BBC sci-fi show available for free streaming for Amazon Prime members. Hooked up the micro HDMI from my android tablet to the TV and watched a couple of episodes. It was pretty interesting.
