I don't mind it. What I do mind are TV appearances....I have to do commercials for work sometimes and have had to do a few interviews for the local news. I hate being on TV.

I've gotten pretty good at it, but even though I'm not deathly afraid of it like I used to, it's still a burden.
I remember my very first jury selection. I wonder how visibly terrified I was. A couple of trials later, I was charming the panel like a champ and wound up with a hell of a jury, but I had to work at it.
I had to give a presentation before around 100 people this past Friday, and STILL found myself nervous.
I was petrified in public speaking within the business environment until my boss pulled a fast one on me at the last minute and asked me to present a presentation that I had developed for him to address a general manager and a couple of hundred employees. Learned to get over it. I love teaching statistical process control and quality certification courses, but if I don't know a subject well, I'm a completely different person. Having weakening voice muscles from a mild muscle disease makes me more hesitant to speak on subjects where I'm not very knowlegdeable.
The most embarrasing thing I did was sing within a comedy song skit for a charity drive before hundreds of people, dressed like Billy Idol, singing To Be A Lover. My wife couldn't believe that I agreed to do it. Had to get plastered to do it. No video
