I just had a very interesting phone conversation with a friend of mine, who is also the grandmother of one of DS' best friends. Apparently, she ran into STBXH (who she's never met) and DS at the grocery store. She's really astute at 'reading' people -- has an incredibly developed intuition. She told me that when DS went running over to her to say hi and give her a hug, STBXH took one look at her, and ran -- literally-- out the door. She said she assumed, by the way he carried himself and acted, that he was maybe someone like a 'Big Brother' that was doing something with DS that day. She sensed that he was emotionally stuck at about 12. Then it dawned on her that there was a resemblance between the two and she realized it was STBXH. She said that she could see that the two of us didn't look 13 years apart, but spiritually, she could see what a mismatch we were; that he glommed onto me when I was much weaker and more vulnerable, so he could feel superior in some ways, yet have someone to take care of him. She said one of her other thoughts when she saw him take off was 'Wow, is he afraid of women!!' Yep. Nailed it. That's why he always goes for women with lots of issues (myself included) and strong women are not at all attractive to him. Much as he's proclaimed himself a proponent of women's equality, he's actually quite misogynistic when he gets rambling. Interesting.
But now, I'm an hour behind!! Sigh.
Well, it's all done except for the set-up in the morning. STBXH was just here (funny how our 'not seeing or talking to each other' has lasted precisely 0 days) to pick up curtains that I was going to sell. They were from his original photo studio/bachelor pad that he lived in off and on after the speech. I could hear OW in the background when he called to say he wanted them back. He's taking down the curtains in the living room. We've used variations of the same color combo since we moved in. So now the house will look really different when I go there next. And she's helped him decorate it. Thankfully it won't be for long since we're selling it. I don't think the ones he's putting up will look gook with the wall colors, but I won't say anything unless it's hideous.
Weird thing? Someone cut my grass! I have no idea who, but before I started doing my stuff today, I got out the mower and went to the front yard and it's all nicely mowed. I don't have yard service from my rental company, so it isn't that. I hate to ask my neighbor, and I don't think DS did it. I'm grateful, but I have no idea who to show my gratitude to!
So now I guess I do have time to bake some cookies for DS' lemonade stand. Am going to try a recipe using a German chocolate cake mix. You make them like thumbprint cookies but instead of jam, you put a little bit of that nut and coconut frosting (like they put on German chocolate cakes) in the middle. And I'll also make oatmeal cookies with white chocolate chips and dried cranberries. The boys will enjoy them if nobody buys them, LOL.
I'll make my signs while they're baking. Then it's a bubble bath and off to bed!

Altruism is alive and well and sometimes people do nice things for good people!Hope you have a great day tomorrow!

You have a guardian angel who got your grass. !!
As I was reading this post I noticed you were using nuts -- and my wife and I were talking yesterday about when people bake for events now (schools, church functions , etc) they have to be careful because it seems that there are more people allergic to nuts and have a bad reaction then we can remember when we were growing up.
Hope your yard/garage sale is a success -- hope your son has fun selling his mom's german chocolate cookies and lemonade -- and as far as ex --- well (if you can't say anything nice -- don't say it) --asswho**!
That's a good point about the nuts -- I usually put pecans in my oatmeal cookies, but I didn't just for that reason. And I packaged them separately from the German chocolate ones. You get used to the food allergy thing when baking for school parties anymore, LOL.
Thanks for the good wishes! Keeping my fingers crossed that I get rid of a lot of stuff and that we make a good amount of money.
