Re: The Make Fun of Texans Thread
The longest car trip that I have ever taken was driving west, into the sun, in Texas.

Sunday through Wednesday I put 1300 miles on the office car and never left the state. That stretch of 287 between Fort Worth and Amarillo? Just damn.

Re: The Make Fun of Texans Thread
Now that I have posted several jokes about Texas, I have to say that I love Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Austin. The people that I met there were warm, welcoming, and generous with their time.

Austin was designed and planned to be a mid-sized city. If all the yankees, damn Californians, people who cry about the heat, and people who complain about the Texans would go back to where they came from, it would be again.

There aren't too many people who could make "poor George" into 17 or 18 syllables.

And those stretches between Victoria and Corpus Christi or Kingsville and Harlingen ain't exactly picnics either! Late at night, you're just a sitting target to get hit by some big-assed deer!

Darlin': Whatcha doin' taking pictures along IH-10 in Orange County? Better keep your eyes on the road!
Actually, that particular sign is not quite a mile or so from my turn off to Little Cypress-Mauriceville, where I have to travel to annually to ref one of their football games. Now that's just a long damn way to go to have to blow whistles and throw flags at people!
