Ok, just got back from Seeing "MAGIC MIKE"...(we wait till it hits the $1 Theater months later). Took my husband too, he was a little embarrased, but hey, we seen about 5 dudes in there, 3 with a woman, gay couple in the back...and when walking out, this old lady who seemed to need a cane was right in front of us...I said to my husband... "Didn't know your Mom would be here!"

-- I guess them old ladies still like to see a HOT man dancing, got the biggest charge out of that - that will be ME in 30 yrs !
Anyway... LOVED the movie... Mike can DAANNNCCCEEEE. The KID was HOT... the movie showed the reality of struggling behind the scenes...the ugly part of this Lifestyle, the dreams of those who partake ....
Best part for me was the
love story (of course)... I know some of this is based on FACT, but I have no idea how much

haven't read about it...
How MIKE slowly fell smitten for Adam's sister, their dislike for each other at 1st...but yet an understanding grew...their hanging out on the beach/laughing, His Promise to her he will watch over her brother....unexpected feelings starting to rise in MIKE...and of course how could she not be mesmorized seeing him dance -even though it was NOT her lifestyle at all - and she wanted NO part of it -- and let him know at every turn.
How after her brother really messed up/ drugs....SHe laid into him with fury

...Mike KEPT his promise, even though it was costing him his life savings for his DREAM for his furniture business... very touching there.
He paid another's debt -because he made a promise (beautiful)...... ..Loved the "
power of a woman" message in this movie....after realizing, through her words -that STUNG him...he questioned the course of his life...being a 30 yr old stripper..... the driving to her door after quitting for good -not knowing where or what he would do...but he was done... tears in his eyes in the car... how they came together... with "Feels like the 1st time " playing in the background".
Yep, that's it. Even though this is just a movie, I think Life works this way... People we come across in life have an effect on us, and Love...well, we all climb mountains and sail stormy seas for that.. (like the song goes! by Foreigner)... all for the love of 1 Special woman....he was determined to change the course of his life.
But again, I have no idea how much of that was just romantic HYPE or REAL ?? Anyone know?? Was it really true someone bailed him out of his mess for $10,000 and he fell in love with the guys sister...and now he is in the furniture business that he wanted , possibly overlooking the ocean ( I think that was mentioned in the movie).
