My friends and I shot this video after I took that pic I posted. I wanted to take the band into speed metal. Those F-ers wouldn't go for it, so we broke up.

Heres one of my all time favorites. They never really got the credit they deserved but I wore out two of their cassettes.

Cassettes!! Whoa!!

OT, but relates, kinda... The other day my daughter was yammering on about something, and I didn't understand what she said. So I said, "rewind that and start over." she looked at me like I had 12 heads and said, "What does 'rewind' mean?" She had NO clue what I was talking about, because nothing in her little world rewinds. Made me feel old as I tried to explain it to her.

I felt the same way when my second youngest son asked what a *record* was. When I explained it, he said, "COOL!" LOL

While on the subject here are some other I thought of:

-Rotary dialing phones (and we also had a party line with 3 other families).
-Since you brought up records, how about 45's or even 78's?
-8 track or reel to reels
-Only 4 channels of TV so if you missed Saturday cartoons you were out of luck for a week.
-putting foil on the tv antenna or having to hold some stupid pose while holding the antenna so you could see it.
-screw in fuses or tv tubes
-toys (rock m sock m robots, whirly bird helicopter, stretch armsotong, tonka trucks made of steel that caused stitches, the Sears Catalog for Christmas!)

Damn Im old...

Truth. They don't make 'em like that anymore. A couple of friends and I got bored one day, and decided to destroy my old Tonka truck. We beat the shyte out of it with anything we could grab. Probably 8-9 yo, so we had at least a little power in our hits. It mostly just scratched the paint.

Since our son was born H has been buying vintage tonkas on ebay. We now have a small collection (about 8), and a few hundred dollars invested. He's VERY specific when buying them, they HAVE to be the EXACT same ones that he had as a child. Something about the "paint schemes" being different on some of them.

I can't vouch for the video, but I love the song, and the band.

Depeche Mode- Strangelove (Official Music Video) - YouTube

I had to google and make sure this came out in the 80's. Haha.
