My e-mail is with hotmail and I recently noticed the page looking different. It says something about it is new and associated with Windows Live or Outlook or something of that nature. It even shows a picture beside my e-mails. Why would a picture of me suddenly show up there? Does anyone else have this and know what is going on? I hate when something messes with my stuff!
Southbound - Hotmail recently got "upgraded" to something more like Outlook to add supposedly more features. Although as is typical with Microsoft, I have found that this new version doesn't work very well on an even basic level. I often can't open emails or mark them for deletion. Very frustrating!

I wish things could just be left alone. I notice today that everything wants to know if one wants to "link" to other services.
Personally, I don't. I guess I'm just wondering if my e-mail is still private. I don't want to send someone an e-mail and other people be able to read it because it's "linked." That may be a naive worry, but I'm not so up on all this technical stuff.

i use hotmail and havent noticed any of these changes and no trouble deleting or opening e-mails.
you talking about the website?
or do they have a program to download such as outlook has.
Microsoft recently announced that they were abandoning the hotmail interface, and accounts are reverting to an older Outlook-based architecture, if I read the article correctly.
As a writer, I use an outlook-based email linked to my web domain, but I use hotmail for public forums. For me, the look and feel of my hotmail email didn't change, but I think its because I set my account up under the Windows Live portal. I would guess that those who didn't use the Windows live access would probably revert to an outlook-like display, because what you are describing looks like my Outlook display.
