Default Co-workers missed the foot-care class

This is not a thread geared at starting a foot fetish discussion, but just some questions related to some observations I have made this summer. I'm wondering, being that all people's bodies are different, do some women's feet just naturally stay softer and callus-free, or are nice looking feet a real chore for every woman?

I recently attended our annual staff meeting at work that includes all employees of probably over 200 people, a large number of which are female. Before entering the "big room," one of my female co-workers said to me, "This is the first time I've worn shoes that show my feet in ages; I hope they pass." I thought they looked fine. Upon entering, it was a sea of strappy shoes among the women. After a few minutes of observation, my co-worker decided her feet would pass.

What we observed was that a lot of women looked great. One could tell they had spent a lot of time on their appearance from the ankles up: nice dress, hair, make-up, jewelry, etc. Most had on nice looking shoes; some shoes were even eye catchers, but a lot of their feet looked atrocious.

Heels looked like cement with deep, vertical cracks. One woman had her shoes off with her feet resting in a nearby chair, and her soles looked like a piece of beef jerky rather than human skin. Why do some women's feet "always" look nice, while others "always" look like they've had to walk barefoot in a jungle and then through the desert before arriving, yet, they all show them off courtesy of strappy shoes.

Hmm I can't speak for all women... but for me... it depends on my living situation. For instance.... when there isn't too much stress going on I love taking time out of my day to pamper myself... this includes washing my feet, lotioning them up and even giving myself a foot rub.. but if I'm in a high stress situation... I have to sacrifice spoiling myself and therefore my appearance suffers a bit.. :/

I wouldn't say foot care is a "chore", but it's definitely part of your beauty/grooming ritual.

Nasty feet are one of my pet peeves. Your feet take a lot of abuse, and you should take care of them for health, if not beauty.

But sorry, gross feet make you look like a slob, and they are stomach-turning.

I had a friend tell me one time that he went on a blind date and the girl was good looking, real nice, etc. I asked him when the next date was and he said there wasn't one. I was confused until he said "she has FLINTSTONE feet".

I'm with the others, take care of it when I can but it's not my 1st priority. Apparently I need to move it up the list though...

True! What i don't understand is why expose them if they look yucky? Did those women at my work assume that because they had on nice shoes and a toe ring that it erased the cracked heels and dry skin, or did they think it really didn't matter? Wouldn't it be like me wearing a three-piece suit, yet my hair was greasy and matted from having not washed it in three weeks?

I've heard of women refer to their feet as "Flinstone feet." Wilma and Betty had small feet, so, I believe it's when a woman's feet looks more like Fred's feet.

He was referring to the leathery bottom of their feel with the cracks in the cement look and she had hair on her big toes.

This really made me laugh, Oh Southbound ...you will loose all respect for me now... I give so little care to my feet, well, you would think I am just a bad bad woman , ha ha ...I walk to the mailbox on stones in my bare feet , I think nothing of it, I don't lotion them up (rarely).... they are hard on the bottom--like tough leather... heck I could likely walk on GLASS !! I am even dumb enough to take walks in the woods stepping on thorns sometimes cause I was too lazy to go put my shoes on.... I do paint my toe nails though !!

Yeah, if you judged my feet, I'd be at the bottom of the barrel ...one of those who looked like they walked through the jungle, then the desert ..... Ha ha -those comments about Beef jerky, so A good thing my husband is looking other places beside my lowly feet.

SimplyAmorous, after your description, you may be the perfect person to answer my puzzle. This really has nothing to do with a specific attraction to feet; I think anybody could notice it and the question would be justified. I realize that people have other things to do than worry about their feet, but here's what puzzles me:

I'm sure the women at my work "worried" about the rest of their appearance. Some of them were really decked out. I'm sure they spent half the morning on their hair, make-up, picking the right jewelry and clothes, etc. So, why were they unconcerned about the appearance of their feet? The part that really gets me is that they wore really nice shoes which could draw attention to their feet. I hear women compliment each other's shoes all the time. So, did they not think that having a nice shoe strapped on a foot that looked like they had been wading in cement all night might be a little unsettling to the morning breakfast?

I guess I'm just assuming that when a woman wears a hot, strappy shoe, they might expect people to notice the shoe, and how do you notice a shoe with three straps without noticing the feet too?

Ok, I'm going to use a smilie I found, that i think is hilarious, to illustrate how I felt when I saw some of those feet.

Halarious emoticon there!

You are giving us an inside look at the brain of a serious foot fetish man.... Who knew feet could be examined so closely and some men feel like this >>> then your brain likely says.....solely by the looks of her feet ..... She's not for me!!! .... is that how it works Southbound?

Being one who rarely thinks of my feet but DOES care about looking good in other ways... and yes, I do notice women's shoes...oh yes! They can seriously MAKE the outfit ! But the thought never enters MY brain to examine the feet -like having an X-ray desire to do this.. .as it seems you take great pleasure in. Not sure what my fetish is - I guess we all have them though! Not getting on you there...it is rather fasinating .

In my mind...with shoes...you can jam any ol'd feet into a good looking pair and not notice a thing till the shoe comes off.

What does a foot look like that has been wading in cement all night anyway?? To me, so long as the feet are clean, they don't smell bad (seems more men have that going on)... I don't see that any of us women can change the shape of our feet in any way shape or form, so it seems pointless to me to even mess with them too much. Isn't the shape what turns you on...or the CARE?

I mean... I love that pepperment lotion stuff and I buy it !! But truth is.... I have no care for the treatment of my feet as much as I enjoy the TOUCH of his hands on them....cause well, that feels good, I ain't thinking of the looks of my feet at all.

Health wise... seems feet are a peice of cake, shave the little hairs on them, keep them nicely trimmed , keep them smelling good & add some light polish. I don't mind that mine are so tough on the bottom at all, I am less likely to get cut with something sharp -compared to a woman who has never walked barefoot & her bottom is like fine silk or something. I am not envious of that at all.
