Default Book suggestions for very passive friend?

My friend is quite the nice guy.Way to beta and generally backs down when any conflict arises such as an intelligent debate among friends. I dated him about 5 years ago and he hasn't been on a date since. He doesn't even attempt to talk to women. I know none of this is my problem but he's a great friend of mine and I know he wants a family some day. But he's very naive towards women in general among other things. He is also an avid reader. Any books like no more Mr. Nice guy that apply to single men?

He's both a doormat and socially awkward around everyone but his friends.

He's naive due to lack of any real knowledge about women in general. It's almost childlike actually.

We do go out as groups and many of us have offered to play wingman. It's like he doesn't have it in him. I think a good book will open his mind into being a little more assertive when he's interested in someone. Instead of staring from afar without even an attempt to talk to her. Thanks for the suggestions I'm going to look up suggested book and due my research tonight. I'm at home with the toddler so nothing else to do lok.
