I love Nick Sparks. If you're looking for a good author try Jodi Picoult. She wrote the novel the new movie that's coming out "My Sister's Keeper" is based on. Buy the actual book by her though, not the book w/the people from the movie on the cover. Her other novels are great too, real page turners. You can't put them down and you run out and buy another after finishing one.

Since I've curtailed my online chatting and game playing over the past year or so, I've gone back to being an avid reader. One of my favorites that I read recently is called "Set This House in Order" by Matt Ruff. It's about love, and multiple personalities, and a mystery. I loved it.

I also really like Paulo Coehlo's books. I just finished "The Winner Stands Alone" which was good, but my all-time fave is "The Alchemist".

I liked "My Sister's Keeper" too, but Nick Sparks is too formula for me. I'll check out "A Twist of Fate" - sounds interesting!

Hey Justean!

Well, my fav kind of books are biographies, usually from the medieval time period.

I do like a good romance novel every now and then.

Also loved the Harry Potter books, and any books like these.

I do love to read, but as you said, it sometimes isn't possible when you've got so much on your plate.

Short stories, well, Hans Christian Anderson? hehe... like ,

the little mermaid hahaha... I know you'll catch that joke Justean!

Well, I will think of some and try to get them posted on here.

poetry could be fun to read also, if you like that sort of thing.

Oh, and ancient greek lit. Try reading Lysistrata... it's really funny, deals with sexuality, feminism... and it isn't terribly long, so you could read it in an evening.

Also, a Roman play, but good for reading, written by Plautus, called "The Psuedolus"

It's really really cute. I know it doesn't sound like it, but trust me you'll like them! You can get the English translations anywhere.

I first read these in my World Lit class in college.

My favorite all time book is between Pillar of Iron and The Earth is the Lords, both by Taylor Caldwell. Dialogue with the Devil is also really good.
