Alot. 'Alot' is not a word. It drives me crazy, a lot. It seems to get used a lot, especially in forums.
Your. The use of 'your' instead of 'you're.' It's you're great, not your great. Your great dane poops a lot. That works. But not if I am trying to indicate that you are a special person I would say you're special.

Is it so hard?
I do this sometimes.. and its nothin more then a simple type-o, some people type too fast to realize that they have made the simple mistake of misspelling a word. Some people cant help the type-os, its just a common mistake. I could type like my friends do when we're on messengers or txting, "ur so crazy" "ur right shes weird" instead of you're just use "ur" or instead of using to use the number "2". Type-os happen.. its jus common nature to misspell a word every now and then.
Sorry, it's not just typos, I've seen both of those written out. And, some people will use 'alot' several times in one paragraph. So, not a typo either. I have no problem ignoring the odd misspelling or typo but it's very hard to give a posting the gravitas it deserves with consistent grammatical errors throughout it.
And, Amberlynn, you should try to not type how you talk. Again, I point to the 'gravitas' thing.
The problem is, at times there are grammatical errors, whether it be not using punctuation, not using correct paragraph structure, and YES, spelling, that can make it very difficult to get to the idea of what a person is trying to say. In posts like those, or in papers like those if I am reading someone else's work, I would rather give up than try to decipher what the person is trying to say. The purpose of writing is to get YOUR POINT ACROSS, and if the reader cannot weed through the grammatical and structural errors in order to get TO the point, then what good has come of the writing?
